NEW MILESTONES IN JANUARY, 2020

eTransport Mission Mode Project (MMP), executed under MoRTH, has brought about significant changes by inducing high degree of convenience, efficiency and transparency in the service delivery of various transport services- meeting expectations of citizens, businesses as well as government departments.

The effective implementation of the project entails progress/ enhancements in the various project modules viz. Vahan, Sarathi, eChallan, mParivahan, Analytics, PUCC, etc. among others, along with various initiatives and technology interventions, from time to time.

Some key milestones for the month of January are listed, as below:

  • Centralized Vahan 4.0 rolled out in 1,219 RTOs
  • Centralized Sarathi 4.0 rolled out in 1,145 RTOs
  • 1.5 Crore+ downloads of mParivahan mobile app, till date
  • eChallan implementation underway in Transport and Traffic departments of 20 States/ UTs, with a total of 2.17 Crore challans. Total Penalty collected amounts to ~ Rs. 2,121 Crores
  • PUCC application has been implemented in 18 States. 1.88 Crore+ PUCC already issued by ~14,285 registered PUCC centres

Vahan 4.0:

    • Enhancements in Vahan 4 Dashboard:
    • New home page to display by default pan-India data like vehicle registration, number of transactions, revenue, permit, etc.
    • Display of last five-year comparison data against transactions in Vahan 4 like vehicle registration, number of transactions, revenues, permit, etc., and top five states in terms of revenue generation, the number of transactions, vehicle registration, etc.
    • Provision to send SMS to owner's registered mobile number, if RTO is holding the application for new registration, change of address, transfer of ownership, etc.
    • Facilitation of module for mandatory fitness for other state vehicles before registration, in Delhi
    • For Hindi Speaking states in India: enablement of modules like deduplication, registration number, restoration of wrongly disposed applications etc. in Hindi
    • Launch of Online Check Post application in Odisha and Maharashtra
    • Roll out of mobile application for e Fitness in one of the RTOs of Uttarakhand

    • Sarathi 4.0:

    • Migration of ~ 9 crore documents from DB to ECS server
    • Completion of web services for 64 KB Smart Card, with KMS Team
    • CSC payment gateway integration, in Uttarakhand
    • Enablement of Faceless Service for Gujarat

    • eChallan:

    • Implementation in 20 States: Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Odisha, Punjab, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh
    • Generation of 2.17 Crore eChallans (till date) , with 17.76 Lakh challans issued in the month of January 2020
    • Total Penalty collection (till date) of ~ Rs. 2,121 Crores, with Rs. 177 Crores collected in this month

    • PUCC:

    • Implementation in 18 states: Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal
    • Total PUCC issued: 1.88 Crore+
    • ARAI approval on ~24 PUCC Manufacturers and ~53 Device Models
    • ~14,285 PUCC centres activated/ registered

    • Vahan Online Service:

    • Module for availing basic services (hypothecation addition/ continuation/ termination, change of address, transfer of ownership and duplicate RC), along with renewal of registration
    • Module for collection of compounding amount, in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu
    • Self-backlog module for citizens, in Maharashtra and Gujarat
    • Enablement of QR code in all pre-filled applications of Vahan Services
    • Integration with DSC
    • Mobile number updation facility on citizen services home page
    • Permit Services:
      • Printing of Approved Permits from citizen side
      • Checking for echallan while applying for Permit Services
      • Issue of Permit without registration number, in Kerala
      • Mapping of permit issuing authority for All India Tourist Permit, Contract Carriage, Temporary Permit, Renewal of Authorization for AITP

    • Analytics:

    • Data migration of Driving License, Vahan online RTO, Sarathi online RTO, to elastic search through Hadoop ecosystem.
