eChallan – Raipur Police makes fine recovery worth Rs. 1Crore through e-Challan

eChallan has been helping multiple State Police Departments and Traffic Enforcement units with efficient traffic management. In addition to the recent update from Thane when Traffic Police retrieved fines worth Rs. 30L from Traffic violators who did not pay their e-challans, Raipur Police ended up collecting Rs. 99.43L from 14,774 persons in 2020. The huge fines were not even generated manually but RLVD cameras were also utilized in the practice which managed the challans at all the major squares. Also, surveillance cameras, wrong way cameras, number plate cameras and speed violation detection cameras have also been updated in the current infrastructure with an effort to manage the traffic. E-challan system has witnessed tremendous success with an active adoption by 25+ states. Recently, Jammu Police also adopted the e-Challan system for traffic enforcement.

A STEP TO VIRTUALIZATION

mParivahan is among the most popular Government apps with more than 4Cr downloads and wide utilization by citizens with unique features like virtual RC (vehicle registration certificates) and virtual DL (Driving License). It also enables the citizen to allow sharing of RCs with their family members and related citizens without any hassle. mParivahan also serves as a platform to search for other citizen related services like finding a PUC centre and keep track of vehicle Insurance.The m-Parivahan app is primarily meant for common citizens and transport operators who can access various transport related service like payment of road tax, application for various services, appointment with RTO, etc. It has back-end connectivity to Transport National Register and facilitates updated status of all transport related documents like RC, DL, Insurance validity, Tax status, Fitness status, PUCC validity, Permit status and also history of challans.

MVAHAN APPLICATION

mVahan has been envisaged as a single platform for various Vahan Services at RTO level. While the Android app has already been launched, the iOS version and web client are planned to be rolled out shortly. The Overall platform, comprising of three solutions, shall be based on centralised microservices architecture.
Initially starting with the automation of 'Vehicle Fitness' process, it now covers 'Registration document upload by Dealer/RTO', 'Change of Address' functionalities, etc. as well; to further expand to entire RTO services, as the implementation progresses.

AUCTION MODULE FOR REGISTER VEHICLES

User who has purchased or acquired the motor vehicle, at a public auction conducted by, or on behalf of, Government, shall make an application in the VAHAN 4.0 portal (as per Form 32 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, '1989), for change of ownership without submitting NOC Bihar And Karnataka are the states in which the auction module is running. In Karnatak first auction was held on 11 May 2020.
